This weekend, I went to a pumpkin patch called G&M Pumpkin Patch in Livermore. Of course, you go to pick up pumpkins, but that’s not all it was. The pumpkin patch had food trucks, shaved ice, rides, a corn maze, animals, and a little shop where you could buy spices.
Getting in is a little bit complicated because there are three different areas where you can park your car. But once you park, you go through the gate entrance near the middle parking lot (#2) or the other gate at the first parking lot (#1). Even though it’s a complicated way to park or get in, couldn’t find one, which made me a bit mad because autumn and pumpkin patches are made to have great caramel apples and pumpkin pies.
Soon we decided to see if we could ride a small train that went around the whole pumpkin patch. But once we got there, there was a super long line that wrapped around the corner and down the fence. It would most likely take like an hour at least just again on a train the thing that I thought the free entrance to the pumpkin patch makes up for that.
A little bit after we entered, we walked around exploring the grounds. We went over to the little shop outside, which contained spices and miniature pumpkins. The store was covered with fall decor, which gave me a warm feeling. As my family and I were walking around looking at all the different food trucks and the little store, we saw some cows, goats, and a pig all sleeping, relaxing, and in the sun.
Since it was hot my grandpa and I walked over to a stand where they had kettle popcorn, slushies, and drinks. The only things we got were a small bag of popcorn that was five dollars and a median slushy that was six dollars. Yeah, six dollars for a medium slushy, and a large slush at the gestation is about four dollars. Based on this you can probably tell that everything was well overpriced. The popcorn was okay because it didn’t have flavor and it was really dry.
After that, we explored and scavenged for somewhere that sells caramel apples. But sadly we would’ve made it faster if they had two or three different trains going all at the same time but leaving at different times. One train would come to pick up people and then leave; a couple of minutes later the second train would pull up and do the same thing, pick up people and leave; then a couple minutes later the third turn would pull up, and go.
Out of my experiences from the G&M Pumpkin Patch in Livermore, and all the activities there, I would give it a seven out of ten. The reason is that they are really overpriced, their popcorn is dry, can’t find the caramel apples, and the lines are really long. These are all things they could fix if they tried, but hopefully, it will be better next year.
