Our annual Valentine’s Day dance will take place in the Spirit Center. The theme of the dance is Cupid’s Ball. The dance starts at 5:00 pm and ends at 7:00 pm. As a reminder, students must purchase a ticket this week during lunch at the student store and take it home for a parental or guardian signature.
To enter the dance, bring your signed ticket to the front gate at 5:00 pm. A leadership student or teacher will then check you in by giving you a stamp. Once you enter the dance, you may not leave the gates. Please stay within the Quad and Spirit Center.
This dance will feature many activities, including a professional DJ and a photo booth for students to capture memories with their friends. The snack bar will also be open for students to enjoy beverages and snacks during the dance. Remember to enjoy the food outside before returning to the ball.
Mr. Ogaz, our new leadership teacher, explains how the dance is planned and set up with the cooperation of the leadership students: “The student leaders put together almost all of the dance. The two heads of the Activities Committee have been working hard to choose a theme, plan the decorations, create a detailed purchase order for all expenses, curate a song list for the DJ, present the plan to the entire Associated Student Body, and have it voted on. The week of the dance, the leadership students sign up to sell tickets during lunch, work shifts at the dance, and set up decorations. It’s a lot of hard work, but having two leadership classes helps lighten the load and makes the events run more smoothly.”
Our dances not only give students a chance to have a fun and enchanting night with friends, but they also help raise money for the leadership class, allowing us to host more activities and games at future events.
