The beautification of our school gardens is an exciting project aimed at making our outdoor spaces more colorful, welcoming, and peaceful. By adding a variety of plants and flowers, we hope to create an environment that not only enhances the appearance of our school but also brings our community closer together.
Introducing a garden would give our school a more vibrant and exotic look, adding natural decoration and a sense of cleanliness. This could be a wonderful project for science classes or even developed into an after-school program. It would give students an opportunity to help improve the school environment while also strengthening our sense of community. Through this initiative, we hope to inspire environmental awareness and encourage a greater appreciation for the natural world.
Beyond its aesthetic benefits, the garden would serve as a valuable educational tool. Students could learn about various plant species, gardening techniques, and sustainability practices. Hands-on experience like this offers meaningful learning opportunities and helps students understand how nature supports our well-being and the health of our planet. The garden could become a living classroom that fosters growth, curiosity, and exploration.
I interviewed Alyssa Belloso to get her thoughts on the idea. She said, “I would love this if we could do it in science classes throughout the year. I feel like it would be beneficial for students who are thinking about joining the class that does something similar at LHS. It could help them decide if they enjoy it and want to join.”
I completely agree. A school garden would be an engaging, hands-on project that helps students connect with nature and learn how to care for plants. I would love for our school to have a garden!
