After years of growth, laughter, and learning, the 8th grade class is ready to ride the next wave—straight into high school! But before we officially say goodbye to middle school, it’s time to celebrate in style. What better way to mark this exciting milestone than with a day full of sunshine, slides, and unforgettable memories at Sunsplash? Get ready to make a splash with your classmates as we close one chapter and dive into the next adventure!
The Class of 2025 is buzzing with excitement about the transition to high school. But along with the excitement, some students are feeling a little nervous. It’s a big change—new campus, new people, and new expectations. Not everyone will be heading to Lincoln High School (LHS). Some students will be attending Twelve Bridges High School (TBHS), Whitney High School (WHS), or other schools in the area.
One thing most students can agree on? They’re pumped for the Sunsplash trip! For many, it’s the perfect way to celebrate the end of their middle school journey. Unfortunately, a few students won’t be able to attend—some due to behavioral issues, and others because they missed the permission slip deadline. For them, it’s a tough way to miss out on their final middle school field trip.
This trip is especially meaningful because, unlike previous classes, our grade didn’t get a 7th-grade field trip. We were never told exactly why, but we’re glad we’re not missing out this time.
I talked to Lorenzo and a few other students about the trip, and most of them shared the same excitement.
“For this trip, I’m going to try to go on Double Dare for the first time—finally! I’ve been to Sunsplash a bunch of times, and my favorite thing to do is go into the wave pool and just chill,” Lorenzo said.
Overall, there’s a strong feeling of excitement and celebration in the air. The 8th graders are more than ready to enjoy this final field trip together—and to take their next big step into high school.
