Let’s face it. Capitalism is incredibly flawed. As is Communism. But capitalism is much more misleading. They are polar opposites. In theory, they’re both excellent.
Capitalism suggests everybody can have an equal start and get rich or plummet to the ground. It’s all dependent on your choices.
Communism suggests that everybody is completely equal, and Marxism specifically believes the proletariat(working class) has struggled under the minority of the bourgeoisie(Ruling class, or middle & high class) and must rise up against their oppressors.
The biggest enemy to capitalism’s righteousness is the massive inequalities. With generational wealth, as well as lotteries & gambling, someone can become a millionaire by barely lifting a finger, while hard workers can barely hold on to their honest wealth. It encourages a gap between the rich and poor.
Communism, on the other hand, communism’s whole existence is to make everybody the exact same, in terms of wealth. A collective ownership enforces that all are the same. A classless society gives everybody an equal opportunity. Without an exploitation of the lower classes, an overall benevolent society comes forth where only the rich stand to lose.
Now let’s discuss economic stability. Communism has an overall growth, where the economy only struggles if an outside interference begins to mess with the line of production.
In a capitalist society, economic struggle is common. We call these ‘Boom and bust’ cycles. When one person gets a disproportionate amount of wealth, job losses force everybody else to suffer. Billionaires stand little to lose, whereas proletarians can lose entire livelihoods.
With capitalism, your only goal is profit. Most don’t care about the means they need to take. Communism aims for equal rights, focusing on the humans producing the goods instead of the goods themselves.
Capitalism is all about individualism. It encourages greed and competition with others, It helps with innovation, but also promotes selfishness and exploitation.
Communism stands for the common good of the people, even if a minority stands to lose.
Capitalism can make you rich, but leaves most people poor. Sure, the one percent of people can become billionaires, at the expense of the ninety-nine percent.
Capitalism cares more about expanding and creating more products no matter the cost. As long as there is profit, human and environmental safety is out the window.
Communism, with a lack of necessity of expansion, can promote environmental safety and sustainability.
And if you ask about why communist countries are totalitarian regimes that crack down on freedom, it is the natural greed of the human race. Humans always want more, the greed that capitalism encourages, causing the exploitation of lower classes, skyrocketing the one percent, shrinking middle classes, and increasing pay gaps.
Must I discuss the discrimination? Legally, in both systems, everybody is completely equal, but pay gaps in race, gender, and sexual orientation cause capitalism to have more drastic systematic discrimination.
