Recently, a new café, East Ave Café, opened up! It is located on East Avenue in Lincoln, right beside GraceLife Church. My best friend and I have walked down to it a couple of times.
When you walk in, everyone is really friendly, especially the workers! There are many places to sit down, but I usually pick the stools near the windows. The lighting is super pretty in there since they have a lot of windows, and you can see the sunlight. They have one bathroom, and it is really clean, as is the rest of the café, which isn’t something you see very often anymore.
The café can go through phases where it’s very crowded, and then it’s not. From my experience, there are a bunch of people inside right after Sunday church, since they can just walk over to the café after the service.
East Ave Café offers a bunch of drinks, ranging from cold drinks like teas, root beer floats, smoothies, and iced drinks, to hot drinks like hot chocolate, matcha, and coffee. They also have some snack options, including pastries, muffins, cookies, and even some gluten-free options!
Their prices are pretty good, in my opinion, even though I usually only get like two things when I’m there. When my best friend and I are there, we spend around $12, depending on whether we both just get smoothies or more. I just wish they would give you bigger portions of certain foods.
Usually, I get their strawberry-banana smoothie with whipped cream. I think it’s really good, but when you get it a lot, you get tired of it pretty quickly. I just feel like it’s missing something, but I’m not sure what.
If you go, you most definitely have to try their Shark Attack drink! I can’t describe it well, but it’s a bubbly drink that kind of reminds me of Sprite but has a different taste and look. It comes with gummy sharks, and it is so good.
In my opinion, the best things about East Ave Café are how easy it is to get to from my house and how sweet everyone is there. One annoying thing, though, is that I don’t really like the food options, and I wish there were more cookie and muffin varieties.
Overall, East Ave Café is a very cozy spot to enjoy a coffee, smoothie, sweet treat, and more! I really enjoy going to East Ave Café, but obviously, people have their own opinions. I recommend giving it a try!
