Your mental health is more important than you think. Having a healthy mental state can boost your happiness, motivation, and it can help you set goals and achieve them. However, not everybody has good mental health. There are many different reasons why a person may have a bad mental state. If you have bad mental health, please get help and talk to somebody that you trust.
1.Trauma
Trauma can affect your mental health heavily. There are many different reasons why a person may have trauma. They may have been abused and neglected by their parents, siblings, or other people. Some mental illnesses can trigger too. It’s important to be aware when a person may have trauma and get them the help that they need. I believe that everybody who goes or went through these events should have access to treat it, because I believe that no one should suffer from traumatic experiences. To help treat trauma, you can talk to somebody, take care of yourself, avoid drugs, alcohol, and tobacco, join community activities, or create hobbies that make you feel good about yourself.
2.Social Isolation or Loneliness
It’s okay to spend time by yourself. As a matter of fact, it’s good and healthy to have time to do things that you love or enjoy, but what if you spend too much time by yourself? Being your individual self is just as important as socializing with other people. If you are isolated from socializing with other people, this can affect your mental health and can cause depression. Socializing allows you to share interesting things about yourself, develop social skills, and finding people who may have similar interests as you.
3.Bullying
Being bullied is no fun. Bullying can lead to bad mental health. You may be wondering why you are being bullied. It’s not your fault that you’re getting picked on. Have your parents told you that your bully might have problems in their own life too? Bullies may have problems at home. Their parents may be toxic to them or not give them enough attention, but bugging other people is still not right. A victim of bullying may start to believe their words. This can affect the victims mental health.
4.Drug and Alcohol Use
There are healthy ways to process emotions. There are also a lot of unhealthy ways to process your emotions. Common bad ways to process feelings is drinking alcohol and doing drugs. People who do drugs and drink don’t know how much this can really affect them and can affect your body fairly quickly. We all have hobbies or favorite things to do in our free time. Drugs can ruin these hobbies. You don’t care about the things that you loved anymore. Alcohol can be just as bad as drugs. Alcohol can also lead to mental illness as well as vomiting, liver damage, blood pressure issues and seizures. Drinking too much alcohol can also lead to mental illness and increase the risk of suicide.
