The Warriors universe expanded on August 26, 2025, with the release of the 18th Super Edition, StormClan’s Folly. Written by Conrad Mason, this standalone novel takes readers back to a long-forgotten era in the forest to explore the rise and fall of a fifth clan: StormClan.
StormClan’s Folly centers on a forbidden romance between two leaders, Stripestar of ThunderClan and Galestar of WindClan. Determined to build a life together, the pair defies the traditional warrior code and combines their clans into one, forming StormClan. However, this act of defiance earns the disapproval of StarClan, leading the new, larger clan to face hardships, hunger, and isolation without ancestor guidance.
This Super Edition serves as a, “tragic story” (as first hinted at in Ivypool’s Heart), focusing on the disastrous consequences of attempting to break established clan traditions. The narrative follows the two leaders as they leave the forest to seek new land, facing, “peril, loss, and despair,” according to the HarperCollins blurb.
Unlike other, more action-packed entries, StormClan’s Folly focuses heavily on character development, specifically the emotional strain on Stripestar and Galestar as they realize their, “rash decision” is causing their clanmates to suffer. The novel is noted for its strong characterization and, for many fans, offers a refreshing, emotionally deep read that harkens back to the classic tragic themes of early Warriors books.
For fans wanting to know how the forest returned to four clans, this Super Edition offers a deep dive into that history. StormClan’s Folly is currently available in hardcover, e-book, and audio formats.
