There are many Mexican restaurants in Lincoln, such as Casa Ramos, Mi Pueblito, and El Portal. However, one of the most underrated spots is Mexican Deli. It stands out as a top choice for Mexican food and has quickly become my go to place.
Mexican Deli is located on 5th Street in a small stone building with a limited parking area. When I walked in, the restaurant was clean, organized, and had a welcoming atmosphere. The workers were friendly and respectful, which made the experience even better.
I ordered a bean, rice, and cheese burrito along with a chile verde burrito. The bean, rice, and cheese burrito was flavorful, crispy, and had a great amount of filling. I would rate it a 10 out of 10. The chile verde burrito was one of the best I have ever had. The spicy sauce combined perfectly with the tender, juicy pork to create an amazing flavor. It is rare for a simple burrito to stand out this much, but this one definitely did. I would also rate it a 10 out of 10.
Another highlight of Mexican Deli is the price. The total for both burritos and a drink was about 12 dollars, which is very reasonable, especially for the quality and portion sizes. Compared to more well known Mexican restaurants in town, the prices are much more affordable. You get high quality food without spending a lot of money, which makes it an even better option.
Overall, Mexican Deli stands out not only for its delicious food, but for the entire experience. From the welcoming atmosphere and friendly service to the great flavors and low prices, it exceeded my expectations. While other restaurants in Lincoln may be more popular, Mexican Deli proves that some of the best places are easy to miss. If you are looking for authentic and high quality Mexican food in Lincoln, this is a spot you should definitely try
