The Museum of Pop Culture or the MOPC, is one of the Museums in Seattle which as it is in the name is a museum for pop culture. But this does not mean that it is only music, but just things that
The exhibits are iconic.
In the East Gallery, there are three rooms: Fantasy, Horror, and Sci Fi. The Fantasy room is filled with a mystical theme, featuring things like Harry Potter and similar worlds. One section includes a table with a screen highlighting iconic games and movies with fantasy themes. For example, the game Final Fantasy VII, which was released in 1997, and movies like Godzilla are featured.
The Horror room includes classic movie villains, horror games, props, and even a Scream themed room. The Sci Fi room focuses on science and space themed items, including pieces like the Terminator and one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles suits.
There are also many musical exhibits, including instruments such as Kurt Cobain’s guitar. One area allows you to spend about ten minutes playing different instruments. In another room, there is a collection of indie games, which are games created by independent developers using their own ideas and creativity. There is also a music room filled with instruments that visitors can play, along with a smaller practice room where you can spend time trying out a few instruments.
Overall, I would highly recommend visiting. It is a lot of fun, with so many activities that can easily fill a few hours, along with even more to explore beyond what I mentioned.
