The school has announced some new food items on the lunch menu, and I’ll be trying a few of them. Some of these new items include tomato soup with cheese bread, orange chicken with chow mein, and the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. The first meal I tried was the tomato soup with a piece of cheesy bread on the side. The tomato soup was amazing—it had excellent flavor, was thick, and very filling. The cheese bread was okay. It was crispy, but it didn’t have much flavor. Overall, I give this meal three out of five stars.
The next meal I tried was the orange chicken with chow mein. The orange chicken was soft and saucy, but the chow mein was a bit too salty and a little dry. I give this meal three out of five stars. Next, I tried the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. The sandwich had an excellent spicy flavor, but I felt like it could’ve tasted better with some kind of sauce. Overall, the sandwich was kind of bland aside from the spice. I give this a two out of five stars.
Next up on the menu were loaded tater tots. I would definitely keep this food on the menu. The cheese on the tater tots was melty and cheesy, and the tots were very soft. They also served toppings at the snack bar, and I added sour cream and jalapeños. It tasted amazing altogether. I would rate this meal five out of five stars.
Overall, I would definitely keep the loaded tater tots and tomato soup with cheese bread on the menu, but I’d skip the Nashville hot chicken sandwich.
