What’s one famous rap artist that you know? There are famous rap artists such as Jay-Z, Eminem, Tupac Shakur, The Notorious B.I.G., and Nas, alongside contemporary superstars like Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, ETC. Well the artist we’re going to be talking about today is Nicki Minaj. 

Nicki Minaj is known as the “Queen of Rap” because of her music flow, lyrics, and record breaking success as one of the top selling female rappers. Her music has a blend of hip-hop, pop, and R&B. She’s known for her bold personality, vibrant and fun wigs, hits like “Super Bass” and “Anaconda,” Nicki has made a huge impact on the music industry. 

But she also made a huge impact on her career. Recently, she was invited to an interview with Ericka Kirk. In December 2025, Nicki Minaj appeared onstage at this large event called America fest, which was put on by a political group. While she was there, she spoke with another public figure and made positive comments about President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance.

Some people were surprised because many of her fans had different political views. When celebrities talk about politics, it usually leads to strong reactions and hatred online. At the event, Nicki spoke on stage and said some surprising things. She said she has “the utmost respect and admiration” for President Trump, and that he gave many people hope and made them feel proud. She called the president “handsome” and “dashing” and said that young people could look up to him as a role model. While talking about Vice President J.D. Vance, she accidentally referred to him as an “assassin,” which was awkward because the term has a serious meaning. She also criticized Californias governor using a nickname and talked about her views on boys and boys behavior. These statements were then again surprising to many fans because Nicki Minaj had not openly supported Trump in this way before. 

After the event, Nicki Minaj’s Instagram account was no longer visible. Some reports say that she deactivated or deleted her Instagram account after the reaction from fans, but there’s also information that she had previously turned it off. Because of the way social media works, it’s hard to know exactly why she chose to deactivate the account. People often take breaks from social media for many reasons, including mental problems, wanting privacy, or reacting to what’s being said online.

This situation shows how big public reactions can be when someone famous talks about politics. Nicki Minaj didn’t stop doing other things online, she still has other social media accounts that are active, but her Instagram isn’t currently available.

This is also a reminder that not everyone agrees on every topic. And when a public figure shares their views, people may or will respond with both support and criticism.
