Every school has people who make a huge difference even if they aren’t teachers or principals. They might not be the ones giving lessons, but the school wouldn’t feel the same without them. At our school, that person is Mrs. Pallas, our campus monitor. She works hard every single day, and a lot of what she does goes unnoticed, even though it helps all of us.
She’s on campus early in the morning, long before most students show up. When we walk in, she’s already there, greeting people and keeping an eye on everything. She’s calm, steady, and always paying attention. Even though her job is about safety, she still manages to make students feel welcome and respected. That’s something not everyone can do.
One thing that really stands out about Mrs. Pallas is how much she notices. She sees the little things, a backpack left alone, a student who looks upset, or a door that shouldn’t be open. She doesn’t point these things out just to enforce rules. She does it because she truly cares about everyone’s safety and well‑being. She understands that feeling safe isn’t just about rules; it’s also about feeling supported.
Part of her job is keeping students on track. She writes referrals when she has to, but it’s never because she wants to get someone in trouble. It’s because she wants us to do better and stay focused. She makes sure we’re in class, reminds us of expectations, and helps us get where we need to be. She’s fair, consistent, and always respectful, which makes it easier to listen to her.
She’s also amazing at handling tough situations. Whether she’s breaking up a conflict, helping someone who’s lost, or just calming things down, she always stays patient and clear‑headed. Students trust her. Teachers trust her. She has this way of making stressful moments feel manageable.
But what really makes Mrs. Pallas special is the impact she has on our school community. Students know she listens. They know she cares. Teachers know they can count on her. She helps our school feel like a safe, connected place instead of just a bunch of classrooms.
In a lot of ways, she’s a leader , not because she has a fancy title, but because she shows up every day ready to help, support, and protect everyone here. She doesn’t ask for attention, but she definitely deserves appreciation.
Our school is better because of Mrs. Pallas. Her kindness, dedication, and hard work make a real difference. This article is just a small way to say thank you, but I think a lot of people would agree with me, we’re lucky to have her.
