The Journalism class recently took a walking field trip to the newly opened Dutch Bros in Lincoln. On April 3rd during 3rd period, Mr. Noonan and his students made the short trip over to order their drinks of choice. Afterward, students had the opportunity to review their drinks (see below) and hear from one of the store’s general managers, who answered questions about the new location. It was a fun and memorable way to spend the final class period before Spring Break, and it may just become a new Journalism tradition.

Noonan: Crazy Banana

My Dutch Bros experience has been pretty limited but the few orders I have had, I always end up getting a stomach ache so I was a little nervous about this one.  I ordered the Crazy Banana freeze and I actually loved it.  Not too sweet and had the perfect amount of banana flavor! 9/10

Brianda: Golden Eagle Blended Freeze

8.5/10, first time I tried it, almost threw up because I had too much but it was still good, would absolutely drink/order it again, I only disliked the fact it still had maybe a bit too much coffee in it which later caused me to be EXTREMELY tired and caused my friends to be genuinely concern for me TvT (In a good/joke way)

Leila: Chocolate Milkshake

I would give the drink a 4/10 rating. The flavor was alright, but it was watery. It felt like I was drinking chocolate milk rather than a milkshake. It also made me sick afterwards, so I had to leave school early.

Dominic: Blended Fire Storm Lemonade. I give this drink a 8.5/10 overall. This drink was ok 

Overall, this drink was ok but could be a little better.

Cole: iced golden eagle 0.5/10 i did not like it and also made me sick and threw up.

Nathan Drennan: Kool Blue Freeze, it was a 6.5/10 overall a kinda mid drink to me personally, then with the mango boba didn’t fit well in it at all. The main drink was alright, not the best and not something I would order again. 

Avery Fortune: 9/10 Build Your Own Rebel – Iced Watermelon, coconut, and mango (half sweet) + mango poppin boba-This drink was really good and super refreshing. The watermelon, coconut, and mango all mixed really well, but it was just a little too sweet for me. The mango popping boba was my favorite part though, it made it more fun to drink!

Paige M.: I got a Build Your Own Blended Lemonade-Passionfruit, pineapple, banana, and blue raspberry + mango poppin boba+sour candy straw. I would rate it a 10/10; it was very flavorful and the boba pearls were a nice touch. I would order again.

Harper: Picture Perfect Blended Freeze- I liked it overall, it was just a sugar overload. It tasted like pure sugar, and it made my head hurt a little. I probably wouldn’t get that specific drink again, but it was good. I give it a 4.5

Yasmin M : light iced strawberry horchata chai latte w/ strawberry soft top. It was 8/10. It was good but barely any soft top. 

Sherlyn M: Kool blue fizz-9/10

Camila V: fruit punch blended lemonade w/ sour candy straw. It was 8/10. It was good but really sour and the straw was also good.

Jocelyn N:Mango smoothie w/whipped cream , it was my first time trying it and I really liked it. It tasted exactly like a fresh mango. My only complaint was that there wasn’t really any whipped cream. I rate this smoothie a 9/10.

Umaiza U: Shark attack blended extra thick. I would rate it 9/10 its really good this my regular go to drink so it was awesome

Celine:  Fruit Punch Sparkling Soda w/ Sour Candy Straw + strawberry boba. I really liked it, it was pretty sweet but not too sweet. The boba was good and had a nice strawberry flavor. I’d rate it a 9/10. 

Gabi O: Palm Beach with soft top, it was so good and it is my favorite drink, I give it a 10/10
