Emeliann has a talent that most people don’t know about—she used to race quarter midgets when she was very young. Before most kids even learned how to ride a bike, she was already behind the wheel of a racing car. She drove a black-and-white Manley quarter midget and wore a bright pink helmet.
She started racing at just four years old and continued until she was ten, competing mostly at Percy City. Weekends were spent at the track with her sisters, Charlett and Lil, along with a few friends. The only reason she eventually stopped was because she had to choose between softball and racing. She chose softball because racing had become a lot to keep up with, but she always had the time of her life on the track. In total, she raced for eight years.
One of her scariest experiences was a major crash where she broke her ankle and suffered a concussion. That moment made her more cautious with jumps, but she stayed brave. She kept pushing through, acing many jumps and continuing to try even when she messed up. She had other frightening moments too—crashing into walls, flipping, and taking hard hits—but she never stopped giving it her all.
Throughout her racing journey, she always listened to the person she looked up to most: her dad. He was her biggest supporter and role model. She wanted to make him proud, and he taught her things that stuck with her because she truly wanted to understand and show him she could do it.
Some of her favorite parts of racing were the friendships she made along the way. If you know Eme, you know she cares deeply about her friends. She loved celebrating wins with her family and spending so much time with her parents at the track. She appreciates anyone who makes an effort for her, and she gives that same effort right back.
Racing will always hold a special place in Emeliann’s heart. The relationships she built, the memories she made, and the feeling of being on the track—those are things she’ll never forget. No matter when or where, being out there racing will always be part of her passion.
