From a Sharks fan who lost a bet……
One reason why the Red Wings are better than the Sharks is because they are 2–0 against the Sharks, and they have more Stanley Cups. The Red Wings have 11 Stanley Cups, and the Sharks have 0 Stanley Cups. The second reason is that they have better players, better defense, and a better goalie, and their team is overall better. In 1997, they won the Stanley Cup, triggering huge city-wide parties, the traditional octopus on the ice, players hoisting the Cup with Steve Yzerman, and iconic traditions like taking the Cup home, showering with it, and its famous summer tour with Nicklas Lidstrom, Chris Osgood, and others. The “Russian Five” included Sergei Fedorov, Igor Larionov, and Vyacheslav “Slava” Kozlov, plus defensemen Viacheslav “Slava” Fetisov and Vladimir Konstantinov.
They also have more goals this season and a better goal scorer. Alex DeBrincat has 26 goals this season and over 50 goals all time, and he is better than the Sharks’ best goal scorers. Jon Gibson has a higher save percentage, and the Red Wings have a higher goals per game average. These are the years that the Red Wings won the Stanley Cup: 1936, 1937, 1943, 1950, 1952, 1954, 1955, 1997, 1998, 2002, and 2008. Because the Red Wings are better, they win more games. They can score better and easier, their record is better than the Sharks’, and they have scored more goals this season. The Sharks will never beat the Red Wings because the Red Wings have better players and better scorers.
